Tom Scaife

Position: Assistant Solicitor

Main Areas of Work:

Tom has strong roots in Cumbria and is able to advise on a range of legal matters. Tom is developing a specialism in dealing with the employment aspects of business sales and acquisitions. Tom advises clients on Employment Tribunal claims, prepares lists of documents and witness statements and has already appeared as an advocate in Tribunal. Tom specialises in drafting Directors' Service Agreements, Contracts and Handbooks. He can also make sure that your Handbook is kept up to date as legislation changes. Tom provides advice on HR and day to day employment issues, such as discipline and grievance handling.

Given Tom's training background he has developed and delivered a number of seminars and training courses for clients. 

Career:

Tom joined Baines Wilson LLP as a trainee in 2009 and qualified in July 2011. Tom graduated in Business Law at Bournemouth University in 2006 and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire in 2009. In between the academic stages of his career, Tom worked for a business training company in South Cumbria delivering training covering a range of business issues.

Personal:

Tom is married and lives in Carlisle. Away from work, Tom spends too much time watching Formula 1 and also enjoys the odd round of golf.
