Laura Barnfield is a commercial property law specialist. Her experience covers a wide range of commercial property work and she has acted in a variety of different sectors, including housing, industrial, energy, education, health and retail. She has significant experience in the contexts of development and regeneration, site assembly, estate and portfolio management, landlord and tenant matters, the acquisition and disposal of property holdings, restructuring and insolvency, investment, corporate due diligence and secured lending.
Laura’s experience covers acting for both private and public sector bodies and she has advised, amongst others, landowners, leasehold occupiers, developers, contractors and funders. Laura’s broad experience and wide variety of client types means she is an adaptable adviser who understands the contexts and any constraints a particular body may operate within and is able to readily pre-empt any issues which may arise in a transaction. Laura is pragmatic and business and solutions focused and works to achieve successful outcomes in a sensible and commercial manner.
Laura graduated in 2001 from the University of Sheffield with a BA (Hons) Law with German, having spent one year of her degree studying at the University of Vienna. Laura qualified in 2004, spending the first 4 years of qualification at international law firm DLA Piper UK LLP and 6 years at the Manchester office of Pinsent Masons LLP.
Laura grew up and was educated and lives in the Lancaster area. In her spare time she has recently taken up running and enjoys the theatre, travel, winter sports, eating out and spending time with friends and family.
