Elizabeth Black specialises in complex commercial litigation disputes and advises both individuals and businesses on dispute evaluation and resolution by negotiation, litigation and mediation or other alternative dispute resolution process.
Elizabeth’s practice includes advising on a broad range of disputes including breach of contract claims, claims arising from commercial supply and distribution agreements, warranty claims and she has significant expertise in pursuing partnership/shareholder disputes as well as negligence claims against professional advisers including other solicitors, accountants and surveyors.
Elizabeth is known for her pragmatic and common sense approach and seeks to resolve her clients’ disputes in a timely, commercial and cost-effective manner. She has a practical and approachable style and has a fine eye for detail.
Elizabeth trained as a solicitor at DLA Piper in Manchester and qualified in 2002. She remained at DLA Piper until 2008 and then worked at niche commercial firm Taylors before joining Baines Wilson in 2016.
Elizabeth is married with two young children who keep her on her toes. Her weekends largely revolve around football training/matches.
