Baines Wilson solicitors have raised over £2000 for Carlisle Youth Zone by taking on a walking challenge to walk the 2,448 miles of America’s Route 66 in 30 days.
During the month of April, the team walked, ran and biked along the route, tracking their progress on a virtual map, starting in Chicago and finishing at Santa Monica Pier. The team exceeded the 2,448 miles, totaling 2,887 miles at the end of the month.
Sean Logue, Head of Partnership at Baines Wilson said: “We are extremely proud of all those in our team who participated for completing this challenge and raising much needed funds to support the incredible work of Carlisle Youth Zone.
The challenge gave us a great opportunity in these difficult times to virtually bring our own team at Baines Wilson together as many continue to work from home. Thank you to all of the people and businesses who donated to support us.
As an added incentive for all of those at Baines Wilson who took part we decided during the challenge as a business to offer some match funding.”
There is still time to donate to support their challenge. If you would like to make a donation you can do so here – https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/baineswilson
Lynsey Buckle of Carlisle Youth Zone commented: “Baines Wilson have been supporting the Youth Zone for 10 years now, and they never cease to amaze us with their enthusiasm and passion for the city’s young people.
We’re absolutely delighted and humbled that they would take on such a challenge in order to raise much needed funds. As we emerge out of Covid restrictions CYZ has never needed this sort of support and generosity more. We can’t thank the team at Baines Wilson enough!”
