Last day to put retrospective furlough agreements in place

Following the extension of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) employers must ensure they put in place all retrospective furlough agreements by the end of today. Extended guidance was published on 10 November (which has had some revisions to correct errors today) and the relevant section can be viewed here.

Employers can furlough employees who have not previously been furloughed and backdate the agreement to 1 November. Employers must obtain written agreement from employees who have their either had their existing furlough extended or are being placed on furlough for the first time.

If you have any queries about the scheme or any other HR queries, please contact our employment team.
