Baines Wilson ‘zooms’ in to help local businesses and charities

Commercial law firm Baines Wilson is offering local businesses the opportunity to take part in a series of free zoominars – employment law briefings on managing workplace problems that may have arisen because of the coronavirus pandemic – whilst also supporting Cumbria Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Fund and Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

The firm’s employment law team are hosting two hour-long briefings at 10am on 6th October and 10th November. This follows their first successful zoominar on 29 September that covered post-furlough redundancies.

The October Zoominar, will focus on the benefits of changed working practices and how the pandemic might have positively affected organisations, as well as discussing the challenges presented by the new ways of working. In Novmber there will be a summary of important cases and legislation changes (of which there have been many) that have happened throughout the year.

Joanne Holborn, of Baines Wilson, explains: “We are hosting these free sessions to replace our popular annual Employment Law updates. As a firm, we want to give back to businesses in these unprecedented times and equip organisations with the knowledge and confidence to tackle any challenges that they are facing.

“We also want to help support our local communities and vulnerable people that have been affected by COVID-19 so we are asking participants to make a donation, if they are able to, to Cumbria Community Foundation’s Covid-19 Response Fund or to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.”
