Areas of Expertise
Ruby Mckeague specialises in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
During the course of her working life, Ruby has gained experience in advising clients in respect to shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims, commercial agency, intellectual property disputes and breaches of contract.
Ruby has particular experience in dealing with complex shareholder disputes. By way of example, Ruby has pursued derivative action on behalf of shareholders due to serious breaches by directors. Further, Ruby assisted closely on the just and equitable winding-up of a high-value company on behalf of a co-director and co-shareholder.
Ruby gained a 2:1 in English Literature at Lancaster University and then moved to Manchester to complete the GDL and LPC. During this time Ruby also worked as a paralegal for Slater & Gordon UK LLP in the Employment department, focusing on contentious cases only. A large proportion of her work involved acting on behalf of Police Federation members in their discriminatory employment proceedings.
Ruby then trained as a solicitor at Myerson Solicitors LLP, a recognised commercial firm in Altrincham (Cheshire). Over the course of two years, Ruby was trained in commercial litigation, property litigation and probate litigation.
Originally from Morecambe, Ruby moved back to the area and joined Baines Wilson LLP upon qualification in February 2019.
