Main Areas of Work:

Sean specialises in all key areas of commercial property work but has significant experience in development transactions including site assembly, pre-let agreements and forward sale documentation. During his time in London he acted on substantial projects in London Docklands including the 1 million sq.ft. mixed use development at West India Quay, comprising leisure, retail, restaurants, hotel and lofts, as well as residential and hotel schemes at Royal Victoria Dock. He also has several years of experience in relation to the retail and leisure park sector including acquisitions\disposals, whole and partial development and lettings and portfolio management. His current caseload includes a variety of different projects and one off transactions including commercial and residential development schemes in the North and other parts of the UK.

In development work Sean has a wide experience of new-build and refurbishment, both speculative and pre-let relating to offices, industrial sites, residential, retail and leisure. His investment experiences involve acquisitions for private and institutional clients. He acts for various high street lenders in all aspects of secured lending transactions. In construction he has broad experience including collateral warranties and professional appointments.

Sean has also advised organisations in relation to the acquisition and development of brownfield sites.

Career:

Sean began his career by undertaking Articles with niche property practice Cannons in London's West End and was involved at an early stage in acting for such heavyweight clients as The Dee Corporation (later to be known as Gateway Foodmarkets) and Grand Metropolitan Estates. He joined the London (City) office of Simpson Curtis as an Associate Partner with a team from Cannons in 1993 where he acted for a number of developers and following the proposed merger of Pinsent & Co and Simpson Curtis relocated with the same team to the West End practice of Fladgate Fielder. In 1997 Sean was approached to join the Property Development Team of Finers (now Finers Stephens Innocent) and became a Partner at FSI in 2000. Having been born and raised in the North West and having spent nearly 14 years in London, Sean and his family decided to return to the North to join Baines Wilson as Head of Property in June 2001.

Personal:

Sean is married and has four young children and enjoys the outdoors and music in whatever spare time he has.
