Isobel Milburn

Position: Partner - Head of Dispute Resolution and Litigation

Main Areas of Work:

Isobel has extensive dispute resolution and litigation experience gained across a broad range of business sectors. 
 
She has acted for clients on disputes of varying value and legal complexity in the County Courts, High Court and Commercial Court.

 
Isobel has experience of multi-party disputes and disputes with an international element and has also advised clients on insurance coverage disputes and a variety of professional liability claims, including claims against solicitors, architects and IT professionals. 
 

She has advised on a very wide range of contract disputes including claims arising from breach of contract and post-termination obligations. Isobel has experience in the projects environment (both public and private sector) and a practical understanding of project delivery processes.
 
Isobel understands the client’s need for clear practical, commercial and cost-effective advice and works closely with clients to reach solutions and ensures that they are kept fully informed of costs, the options available and have a realistic assessment of likely outcomes and timescales. 
 
She is experienced in identifying and instructing the most effective barristers and experts for each individual case.  Isobel has considerable experience of representing clients at mediations and settlement meetings and advising on the terms of settlement agreements.

Career:

Isobel spent the first 11 years of her career at the London office of Pinsent Masons where she qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and was granted Higher Rights of Audience as a Solicitor Advocate in 2006. 

Personal:

Isobel is married with four children.  Outside of work she spends much of her time driving her children to endless sporting events and birthday parties, but when time permits she makes the most of opportunities to be outdoors.
