We are pleased to announce that we have appointed another commercial lawyer.
Mary Selby, from Borrowdale near Keswick, has recently joined the Corporate and Commercial team. Prior to joining us Mary gained over 15 years’ experience working in the City of London, most recently for leading firm CMS Cameron McKenna.
Mary has a broad range of commercial experience including banking and finance work, company sales, management buy outs and other corporate deals. She has also advised lenders (both major UK banks and foreign financial institutions), borrowers, owners, lessors and lessees in relation to multi-million pound bi-lateral and syndicated asset-based lending facilities, tax and non-tax based finance and operating lease structures in the aviation, shipping, rail, equipment and film finance sectors and major real estate finance projects.
Managing Partner, John Wilson, commented:
“Mary is an excellent and very experienced lawyer. We are extremely pleased that she has joined our team. Her skills and expertise will be a very valuable resource to the firm and our clients.”
Mary is the second very experienced City based lawyer to join Baines Wilson LLP in recent times; Head of Dispute Resolution and Litigation, Isobel Milburn having joined from Pinsent Masons LLP.
“In all honesty, I wasn’t sure that I would be able to find a law firm In Cumbria where I could apply my City experience but I’m delighted to have done so. I’m really enjoying the quality of work and dealing with a wide variety of businesses.”
Baines Wilson LLP acts for SMEs, large private companies and PLCs, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and public bodies throughout Cumbria and Lancashire.
