As usual there will be an update on the latest employment legislation and latest case law and how we, as HR and business leaders, can adapt our working practices to the changes. The growth in the “gig economy” and employment status are still very much on the agenda for 2018. The CIPD forecast this sector to increase significantly over the coming years to enable organisational flexibility and responsiveness. In recognition of this, there will a session on the latest developments in case law and legislation on the gig economy.
The General Data Protection Regulation comes into force on 25 May 2018 – are you ready for these major changes? There will be a session on this major change in legislation.
Quality and diversity also remain a major challenge for HR professionals and managers, as we look to develop and implement fair and legal policies which address the needs of the business without falling foul of legislation.
Making reasonable adjustments is a complex area and there will be a focussed session on what is reasonable and how to avoid expensive disability discrimination claims, particularly now employment tribunal fees have been scrapped.
