Career
Anthony was articled at McKenna & Co in London in 1970 and become an assistant solicitor with them on qualifying in 1973. In 1979 he became a partner in their litigation department where he remained for the next 14 years. In 1993, Anthony wanted to move to a smaller practice and joined Druces & Attlee in London as a partner. In 1998 wanting to move to SW Scotland where his family have a home, Anthony became a consultant with Druces & Attlee where he remains actively pursuing his construction law interests. In early 2000, Anthony also joined Baines Wilson as a consultant in construction law.
Key Areas of Specialisation
For much of his time at McKenna & Co, Anthony specialised in contentious work both at home and abroad. He conducted a number of international arbitrations in Europe and the Middle East in connection with large civil engineering projects. More recently he has become involved in project drafting work and was responsible at Druces & Attlee for all the construction documentation at the Eden Project in Cornwall for the building of the Tropical and Temperate Biomes and associated works. More routinely his work involves drafting and advising on contract and warranty documentation for office blocks, retail parks and shopping malls where he may act for developers, funders or contractors. Anthony has also conducted construction adjudications and advises where necessary on dispute resolution procedures in the industry.
Personal
Anthony is married and has three children; he is a qualified pilot and a keen amateur meteorologist sitting on the Editorial Board of the Royal Meteorological Society's house journal Weather. He is a Liveryman of the City of London Solicitors' Company and the Guild of Air Pilots and Navigators.
