Our teams of lawyers are all highly experienced and dedicated to meeting the commercial needs of our clients whether small, large, national or international companies, entrepreneurs, professional practices or public sector organisations.
Since the firm was founded in 1999, we have grown steadily. We are now of a size that we believe is ideal for the firm and our clients – i.e. big enough to be able to field teams of lawyers on complex transactions when required but small enough to ensure prompt and personal attention.
Our clients
Our clients span the full business spectrum ranging from international companies to small family businesses. The bulk of our work comes from the North of England (principally Cumbria and Lancashire) but a significant proportion comes from clients based all over the UK. All our clients have the same requirements – to have the job done well, on time and at the right price.
Our approach
We listen to what our clients want and we then use our skills and experience to get the job done. We provide commercial legal advice. By this, we mean legal advice about corporate and commercial matters delivered in a truly pragmatic and understandable manner. We are committed to getting the very best we can for our clients in all circumstances. However, whilst we are committed to providing pragmatic commercial legal advice, we don't cut corners.
Partner led
Baines Wilson LLP's partners have all in the past worked for large national or large regional law firms and are used to working to extremely high standards whilst under the greatest of time and other pressures. Our partners are all highly competent technical lawyers who can more than hold their own with the very best national and international firms.
Value for money
Our charges will always be fair and reasonable.
Baines Wilson LLP successfully competes with the larger law firms in London, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. Such firms are typically large and unwieldy. They have a high cost base and high charge-out rates. Such firms will often delegate work to non-partners who charge more than our partners despite having much less expertise.
